Salinas Valley Chapter Holds a Donor Appreciation &
Family BBQ
The Salinas Valley Chapter
of the California Deer Association held their Annual Youth
BBQ & Donor Appreciation event on July 29, 2007 at
the Swiss Rifle Club in Gonzales, California. The event
included BB Gun & .22 Rifle shoot for approximately
45 kids, ages ranging from 3 to 18 years. Trophies &
BB Guns were given to those that placed in their age group.
Also, for kids and adults was the archery target shoot.
The BBQ served by local members was delicious and comprised
of Tri-tip & chicken, beans, salad & roll. The
kids were served a free hot dog with all the fixings.
This
year, the Salinas Valley Deer Benefit gave their local
“Phil Bassetti Scholarship” to Ginger Hay. She will be
attending Reedley College majoring in Wildlife Management
in hopes of becoming a Forest Ranger.
